Santorini, Greece

As I mentioned before, I love traveling and really want to see more of the world. In my last post I mentioned wanting to go to Greece after graduation. The past few weeks I have been doing some research on where to go when I get there and what to see. I decided that I want to fly into Athens and spend a couple of days there sight seeing, and then head to Santorini. The main reason I wanted to go to Greece was because of the beautiful islands there.

Traveling

Along with my love for dogs, I also enjoy traveling. I love going on vacations and being able to visit different places. I have been very lucky to have been able to travel to a lot of cool places during my life, including several states and also countries in Europe. Some of my favorite places I have traveled to are England, Italy, Hawaii and Alaska. My ultimate goal is to be able to have say I have been to every U.S. state before I die.

The summer after my sophomore year in college I decided to study abroad in England. During this time, we studied at both the University of Cambridge and University of Oxford. Prior to going I had always wanted to go to England and this seemed to be the perfect opportunity. My grandpa studied at both of these universities and I was very excited to share this with him. I was even able to go see the house my mom lived in while my grandpa was studying at the University of Cambridge. It was an experience I will never forget and learned so much just by being there for three weeks.

Another trip that was very meaningful to me was when I went to Italy. After my sister graduated from college two years ago my parents took us on a trip to Italy. This was the first time I had ever been to Europe and had no idea what to expect. We were there for a little over a week and got to go to Rome, Florence, Pisa, and Cinque Terra. It was an incredible experience that I was very blessed to have. I would love to travel more after I graduate, and am even planning a trip to Greece for this summer.

Dogs

Hello all! As I mentioned before, I am an extreme dog lover. Ever since I was a little kid I have always loved all animals, but especially dogs. I do not currently have a dog of my own but I do have one back home with my parents (picture posted below). Her name is Holly and she is a Yorkshire Terrier. I have had her since I was in the second grade and she is a great little companion!

Although I do have a dog at home, I plan on getting one of my own as soon as I graduate and find a job. The only reason I have not bought one during college is because I am not allowed to have one in the apartment I live in. I am obsessed with French Bulldogs and think they are the cutest dogs. One reason I like them is because they are small and have very loving personalities.  I plan on getting one as soon as I can and naming him Riggins!

I think dogs are great pets to own for many reasons. They are great if you live alone and are always happy to see you. I even read somewhere they dogs can help with anxiety and depression. On the other hand, they are a lot of work, and require a lot of time and attention. They also can be very expensive so I think it is important that people take time to do research before going out and buying a dog.

Hello!

Hello! My name is Haley and I am excited to start this blog about what is going on in my life. I wanted to start off with an introduction post telling a little about myself. I am a senior communication major at the University of Arkansas and plan on graduating in May. I am originally from Texas, but have loved being in Fayetteville the past four years. Something interesting about me is that I am a dog lover and will probably post a lot about dogs.

Another thing about me is I am very close to my family, so being 5 hours away can be hard sometimes. Most of my family lives in Texas, but some of them also live in Hot Springs and Little Rock. I grew up always hearing about the Hogs so it really is no surprise this is where I ended up. My older sister is 18 months older than me, which is probably why we get along so well. She is definitely my best friend and people say we look and sound exactly alike.

One thing that has had a big impact on my life is sports. I did gymnastics and cheerleading since I was two years old until I graduated from high school. It definitely has taught me a lot of life lessons and I gained many friends through it. I do miss competing and enjoy watching old videos every once in a while. I am excited to see where this blog takes me and I hope you enjoy my posts!
